Originally founded by George Hansen as a plumbing, sheet metal, and electrical company, it evolved under the leadership of James C. Champion, a Navy Seabees veteran and certified welder who started as an apprentice in 1946 and became president in 1963. The Champion family became sole owners in 1974, and the company was renamed Champion Industrial Contractors in 1987. Today, they serve all of Northern California, including the Bay Area, from their 67,000-square-foot fabrication facility in Modesto, providing comprehensive HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and process piping services with a focus on installation, repairs, and custom fabrication for commercial and industrial clients.
