Questions and Answers

What's involved in a typical HVAC maintenance visit for a Kennebunk home?

Our maintenance service is designed to keep your system running reliably through our coastal seasons. We perform a comprehensive check that includes inspecting and cleaning critical components, checking refrigerant levels and pressures, testing safety controls, and ensuring your system is operating at peak efficiency. For homeowners in our area, we pay special attention to the condensate drain line, a common point for clogs due to our humidity, and check for any signs of refrigerant leaks to maintain optimal cooling performance and prevent larger issues.

I'm considering a new heating system. What types do you install, and how do you help me choose?

We specialize in installing and servicing high-efficiency oil, natural gas, and propane heating systems, which are common and reliable choices for Kennebunk homes. Our process starts with a consultation at your home. We'll assess your existing setup, discuss your comfort and efficiency goals, and explain the pros and cons of each fuel type for your specific situation. As a licensed technician in all three fuels, I provide unbiased advice to help you select the system that best fits your home and budget, ensuring a proper, code-compliant installation.

My AC isn't cooling well, and I've noticed water around the indoor unit. What could be wrong?

These are classic signs of the two most frequent HVAC issues we see locally. The water leak is often due to a clogged condensate drain line—our coastal humidity causes algae and mold to build up inside the pipe, blocking it. The poor cooling could point to a refrigerant leak, which reduces the system's ability to absorb heat. We start by clearing the drain line with specialized tools and then perform a leak check on the refrigerant system. Addressing both promptly prevents water damage, restores cooling, and protects your compressor from strain.
